artist’s choice

J. Mane Gallery is proud to present our Artist’s Choice online juried art exhibition.

“An artist is typically a being that is filled with so much passion, love, or pain for certain lands, people ideas or images that all they can do with that overflow is bleed it out by creating. And with this type of art, the energy will be shifted from the depths of them, and in to the depths of the audience to be felt. It is a dance. A transference. An intimacy. It is to touch and awaken another human a place they hadn’t known was aching, or sleeping. Both are opened. Both are nourished. Both are transformed.”~Victoria Erikson

For this competition, artists were encouraged to share their artistic vision.  The theme could have been any subject and the artwork varied from realism to surrealism to abstraction, and all media were accepted, including 3-D. All artists over the age of 18, regardless of location or experience, were encouraged to submit their best inspired work.

Each of our themed exhibitions, awards for Best In Show, Platinum, Gold, Silver, and Bronze awards.

The remaining artists included in the exhibition serve as an example of impressive talent and we are honored to showcase their artwork on the J. Mane Gallery website.

5th Street South Bethlehem, Oil, 20 x 28

keith vogrin

Keith Vogrin is a fine artist residing in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. Vogrin studied art formally at The Pennsylvania State University, graduating in 1986 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree with a concentration in Drawing and Painting.Vogrin fashions himself as a neo-romantic scenery oil painter, with nature and architecture as the primary subject matter and “man” secondary (when included). He does not limit himself to one subject matter, location or environment. Instead, he constantly explores new subject matter and locations, while returning to those which have and continue to inspire him. Many of Vogrin’s paintings reflect his passion for the outdoors, his oil paintings include outdoor scenes of rural and cityscapes. They are often from unusual perspectives, to challenge the imagination and create new views of observation that often go unnoticed. Some paintings are deep, dark and monolithic.

My Mauve Iris, Colored Pencil, 12 x 12

Cathy Boytos

I’ve always been interested in art and spent as much time as possible creating various kinds of artwork. Due to regular life issues I had to put art aside for several years but returned to art later in life and found that I still had that same familiar passion from before. After obtaning my degree in Graphic Design I worked in that field for many years and became an adjunct instructor teaching graphic design at the same college where I obtained my degree. After leaving corporate America, I knew that I missed hands-on-art. I resumed my love of botanical drawing and included that in my teaching schedule. During the pandemic I discovered the world of colored pencils and immediately knew that I had discovered a perfect art medium match for me.

Self Portrait In A Selfie World, Oil, 16 x 20

Guy Munsch

I am a contemporary artist painting works that reflect the time I live in, focusing on figurative painting, surreal landscapes and expressive portraits. My work shifts back and forth between traditional painting materials and surfaces and digital painting that extends and reinterprets painting themes. Both set of tools complement my artistic process and create unique works that reflect an energy and commentary of my personal experience and a creative distillation of the influences of our daily life.
